is being widely discussed by experts and users regarding the issue of the release of Search Generative Experience, whether it can replace the role of SEO or not. so in this article we will dig deeper into that issue.
Last year at Google I/O Conference on 10 May, 2023. Google was released the new innovation project called SGE which stand for Search Generative Engine. So, what does SGE role and contribution on google search engine? It really might be usefull for all user worldwide, cause we already experience on how it really difficult to search on certain topics that we need, that oftenly Google Search Engine can’t find a suitable answer for our problem and we have to browse on many website to find it. It is happens because Google simply can’t understand what is the connnection between each word on our queries that we type in and doesn’t know what our intent for those queries, what type of content would be suitable for us ,and etc.
How SGE help user solving their problems?
In order to resolve that problem, Google teams released the Search Generative Experience that capable to make a suggestion search result based from queries that it learn. it uses a Large Language Model (LLM). Sundar Pichai the CEO of Google said on the Google I/O conference ,”As we look ahead, Google’s deep understanding of information combined with the unique capabilities of generative AI can transform how Search works yet again, unlocking entirely new questions that Search can answer, and creating increasingly helpful experiences that connect you to the richness of the web”.
Why Google release this project?
Nowadays, they are many innovation that integrating Artifical Intelegent with Search engine. We named it like Bing Search Engine that not only can answer your question from generating text but it can also speak the response it generates, Chatgpt with its newest product called sora that can make an entirely scene from a text and etc. So, Google it self must be struggle to develop its search engine so it can compete with others.
How does SGE Look like?
When you open your browser, mine use chrome so i would give an example from chrome browser.
on above the page next to your profile account, it has an icon which called search lab, click instead, and then it would open the google search lab website.
Navigate to login on your google account, and then activate the google search lab below.
Then open your search tab browser, type in your queries, and voila it resume some article that match your queries and send some article suggestion for you. But if there is not appear. there is still a small collumn below that says ask for follow-up question, and you can type in your follow up question.
Eventually, we come to the conslusion that Search Generative Experience itself can’t replace the Search Engine Optimization role. Rather than that, it collaborate to deliver users most accurate answer.
